In times like these, it can be hard to remain hopeful.
However, amongst the stories of climate crises and biodiversity loss, there are also many inspiring stories of hope that are waiting to be shared, learned from, and replicated.
What is Conservation Optimism?
Conservation Optimism is a global community dedicated to inspiring and empowering people around the world to make a positive difference for nature.
We strive to help change the discourse about conservation and what it can achieve, by highlighting conservation achievements, sharing success stories, and reflecting upon what we can learn from ideas that are working.
We pledge to always include an action point in negative messaging so that people can find hope, inspiration, or motivation, even in devastating stories.
Celebrate Earth Optimism on Earth Day, 22 April
In the lead up to Earth Day 2025, we will be sharing stories of #ConservationOptimism from Oceania. From Christmas Island to Hawaiʻi, there will be cute marsupials, crocs, birds defying extinction, bad cats and good dogs, and huge efforts made by local communities, science and conservation partnerships!
Follow along, join in, and help us to create and spread a positive mindset for conservation in Oceania!
