As many of you may recall, in 2016 SCBO led a statement on land clearing in Australia which was released during our 2016 conference in Brisbane. Our statement can be found here.
In the intervening time land clearing has not slowed. The Ecological Society of Australia has recently consolidated key points made in their submission to the current House of Representatives Inquiry into the impact on the agricultural sector of vegetation and land management policies, regulations and restrictions for a Scientists’ Declaration.
We would like to take this opportunity to share this Declaration with you and the opportunity for you to consider adding your name to the Declaration here.
The statement will attract more attention and achieve greater impact with a large number of scientists’ signatures on it. We encourage you to read the statement and add your signature to support this important communication. Please also forward this to other colleagues to encourage their involvement.
