2017 Student awards

SCBO are pleased to announce the call for our annual student awards. The closing date for nominations for all awards is May 1st.

As usual, we have two student awards up for grabs – one for the best Oceania student presentation at ICCB 2017, and one for the best student publication in a peer-reviewed journal. Prizes include free registration to SCBO Wellington 2018, or SCB membership!

Best SCBO Student paper award

To be considered for the student paper award, e-mail a pdf of your paper and proof of your student status (e.g. a photo / scan of your student ID) to awards@scboceania.org by May 1st. To be eligible, papers must be first-authored by a student member of SCB Oceania, with a publication date between April 2016 and  April 2017. Each member may only submit one publication to be considered for the award, so choose your best! Papers will be judged by the Board on their scientific merit, clarity, innovativeness, and relevance to conservation and management. Winner(s) will be announced at the SCBO AGM in July, and online.

Best SCBO Student presentation award

Student members presenting (oral, speed or poster) at ICCB 2017 in Colombia are eligible for the student presentation award. To be considered, you must e-mail your ICCB presentation title and abstract to awards@scboceania.org by May 1st. Presentations will be judged by board members attending the conference, and the winner(s) will be announced after the conference has finished. Presenters who do not nominate by e-mail prior to May 1st will not be considered.

Best of luck!
