Abstract deadline for #SCBO2018 EXTENDED to 26th January

The abstract deadline for SCBO 2018 in Wellington has been extended by 2 weeks to 26th January.

We have a great list of symposia lined up for this conference, in addition to some exciting field trips showcasing New Zealand’s incredible biodiversity.

Our plenary speakers, Professor Jacinta Ruru from the University of Otago, Professor Hugh Possingham from the Nature Conservancy, and Dr Nicola Mitchell from the University of Western Australia, will all be giving fascinating talks that are bound to inspire and spark discussion. For more details on any aspect of the conference program, just visit http://wellington2018.scboceania.org/

Finally, thanks to the generosity of Allan Wilson at Otago, we will be offering a number of $1,000NZ stipends to students travelling from the Pacific Islands to attend the conference. If you are interested in being considered for a stipend, please make this clear in your abstract submission. If you have already submitted an abstract, but would like to be considered for one of these stipends, please email wellington2018@scboceania.org with the subject line “Pacific stipends”. Please note – you must be presenting either a poster or a talk at the conference to be awarded a stipend.

You can submit your abstract here.

We look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible to SCBO 2018 in Wellington in July this year!

Nga mihi,

The SCBO Local Organising Committee
