There are seven local SCB Chapters in Oceania. Chapters provide a way for our members to become involved in local conservation initiatives.

SCB Papua New Guinea is dedicated to promoting the scientific study of the phenomena that affect the maintenance, loss, and restoration of biological diversity of PNG.
HI-SCB are a professional organization of grad students, undergraduates, post docs, residents, cultural practitioners and professionals in Hawaii dedicated to promoting the science and practice of conservation biology. HI-SCB’s board is based on Oahu, though they encourage and support active participation to all interested parties and are pursuing represtation from all neighboring islands.
The SCB UQ Brisbane Chapter is based at the University of Queensland and membership is open to anybody involved or interested in conservation science, policy or education in the Oceania region.
The Sydney chapter of SCB is based at the University of New South Wales, and has members from conservation agencies and other universities across Sydney. The chapter provides new ways for members to learn about conservation on the ground over an informal chat and a coffee.
The VUW Chapter is a local Chapter based at Victoria University of Wellington and we are heavily involved in conservation projects in and around the Greater Wellington Region. Our main projects include: Places for Penguins – restoration of little blue penguin habitat, construction and placement of nesting boxes, penguin monitoring; Kumutoto Restoration – An ecological restoration project just down the road by the tennis courts.
